Using rain forecasts for planting decisions
Rainfall timing often matters more than the total amount. A dry week after planting can stress seedlings; a flood week can wash seed away.
What a 7-day outlook is good for
- Choosing a planting window in the next few days
- Avoiding spraying just before heavy rain
- Planning transport of inputs when roads may be muddy
What it cannot do
Short forecasts do not replace seasonal climate advice. Always combine the outlook with what you see on your land and advice from local officers.
